Overnight Sleep Doula Support
A good night's sleep is just around the corner!
The first few weeks with a newborn are filled with sleepless nights and foggy brains. Nights are filled with cluster feedings, a gassy baby, a colicky baby, or sometimes baby just wants to lay awake and stare at you, and while they are the cutest thing that's ever been created, you would prefer to be sleeping! Getting solid rest is essential to brain function, hormone balance, and healing.
What can you expect from your sleep doula support?
I will arrive at your house at 9:45pm, well rested and ready to take over baby duties! Typically, I bring a small set up and stay with baby in either the nursery, guest room, or living room. You and I wind down for the night, chat about baby's day, and then you head to bed to catch up on some much needed rest! Baby will sleep at all times in a sleep safe bassinet in the room with me. If I am holding baby while baby is sleeping, I will be awake. For longer stretches of sleep I will snooze on and off next to baby's bassinet on the bed, cot, or couch, and wake when they wake.
I will only bring baby to you when it is time for them to eat! If you’re breastfeeding, I will bring baby to you with a fresh diaper and ready to eat. If you’re pumping, I will stay up with you while you pump and I will feed baby, and assist in cleaning pump parts so that you can go back to sleep faster. If you’re formula feeding, I will handle all nighttime bottles and wake you only once it's time for me to go home! I will also do light household chores like folding laundry, wash and put away dishes, sweep floors and tidy as needed so that you wake up to a fresh house to start a fresh new day!
